BUD WEAVER, A TRUE PIONEER

Pioneer Material Inc. was founded in St. Joseph, Missouri by Bud and Mary Ann Weaver in 1970.

The company quickly became the go-to resource for the local construction industry in Northwest Missouri. Originally, Pioneer Material Inc. worked with sand and gravel to manufacture concrete blocks. Through the years, the company has evolved and adapted to carry products their customers need.

In the summer of 2009, more than 60 of his customers published a full-page ad in the St. Joseph New Press, thanking Bud for his many years of service. He was more than a trusted supplier. Bud was their problem solver and adviser on challenging projects. He was a pioneer and an innovator.

Pioneer Material Inc. is a third generation family-owned business, dedicated to their customers, keeping the tradition of customer service as a top priority.

The history of the business is rooted in resilience.

Pioneer Material Inc. has persevered through four floods in more than 50 years of business.

In 2011, even though the building was under water, the business never stopped operations. The dedicated team used canoes and rafts to float pallets of materials from the building to higher ground. They saved what they could and helped their customers meet their deadlines.

They have demonstrated for 50 years that they’re steadfast in their commitment to providing unmatched service and quality products to their customers.
